Ladakh is the coldest desert of India. It is located in eastern side of Jammu and Kashmir which is a northern state of India. As the cold deserts are situated adjacent to the mountainous regions of the Great Himalaya, these regions cannot be affected by Indian monsoons. Ladakh lies in the region of rain shadow of the mountain. The Karakoram Range is situated at the north of the desert.
