Gagan mein thaal is an Aarti (prayer) in Sikh religion which was recited by first guru, Guru Nanak.This was recited by him in 1500 or 1508 at the revered Jagannath Temple, Puri during his journey (called "udaasi") to east India.This arti is sung (not performed with platter and lamps etc.) daily after recitation of Rehraas Sahib & Ardās at the Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar and each Gurudwara sahib.
ਗਗਨ ਮੈਂ ਥਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਉਸਦੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ 1506 ਜਾਂ 1508 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰਬ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ("ਉਦਾਸੀ" ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ) ਪੂਰੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਿਤ ਜਗਨਨਾਥ ਮੰਦਰ, ਪੁਰੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਆਰਤੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਗੁਰੂਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਰੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ (ਪਲੇਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਆਦਿ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ)।
