Tumkur district is a central place and the district is named after it. According to popular opinion, the present district was a part of the former ruler of the region, and its capital was the present-day garrison of Kr -dapur, which was rewarded by the rulers of the time till the downfall of the state. Tumuke is an instrumental instrument that is used when the Dungura passes in the village and is called "Tumuke-Uru", indicating that it belonged to the tamer. However, in the 10th century, the original name of the place was known as Tummeguru and there was a considerable amount of flower in this place. The present Tumkur is said to have been built by a Kanta king, who belonged to the dynasty of the Maharaja of Mysu and the place is called Tumkur (Tumkur in English).
