This is my thought-

We are all social animals. When we are part of a civil society there is a norm and expectations.

This indirectly brings a scale of measurement- how much we perform against the social requirements.

So the moment a comparison starts, it turns out to be mostly unhealthy. Unhealthy comparisons create unhappiness.

So in my view most of us unconsciously struggle to be an accepted part of the society and try to do things that may not be to our liking. Also this comparison brings in greediness.

Is this the reason why spiritual seekers and Gurus keep themselves away from the established society in pursuit of happiness?
