Ques. → Calculate ∆ S° for the synthesis of ammonia from N2 ( g ) and H2 ( g ) at 298 K.

=> Reaction : N2 ( g ) + 3H2 ( g ) -------------> 2 NH3 ( g )

→ ∆S° = S° ( products ) - S° ( reactant )

=> ∆S° = 2 × ( 192. 5 ) - 1 × ( 191.5 ) + 3 × ( 130.6 )

=> ∆S° = - 198.3 K/J
==================

[ Note ]

• ∆S° for NH3 = 192.5 K/J

• ∆S° for N2 = 191.5 K/J

• ∆S° for H2 = 130.6 K/J

...
