Acceleration is a Physical Unit. Acceleration can be defied as follows:-

1) Acceleration is first derivative of velocity with respect to time.

If the acceleration of a body is a and velocity is v at any time t

Then,

a=\frac{dv}{dt}

2) Acceleration is second derivative of displacement with respect to time.

If the acceleration of a body is a and displacement is  's' at any time t,

Then,

a=\frac{d^2s}{dt^2}

3) In Other words, Acceleration is change in velocity with time

a=\frac{v}{t}

SI unit of acceleration is m/s². It is generally denoted by 'a'
