Let ,

Present age of the son = x years

Before 10 years :-

Age of the son =( x - 10) years

Age of the father =[ (80 - x ) - 10 ] years

= ( 80 - x - 10 ) years

= ( 70 - x ) years

According to Question ,

70 - x = 2 ( x - 10 )

=> 70 - x = 2x - 20

=> - x - 2x = - 20 - 70

=> - 3x = - 90

=> 3x = 90 [ Multiplying both sides by (- 1) ]

=> x = 90/3

=> x = 30

•°• Present age of the son = x years

= 30 years

And,

Present age of the father = (80 - x) years

= ( 80 - 30 ) years

= 50 years
