Given that volume of water already present in the container = 1000 cm^3

Given that volume of water which is added to the container = 0.001 m^3

Now we need to find total volume of water in litres.

Total volume will be just sum of both type of waters.

Volume = 1000 cm^3 + 0.001 m^3

Units are not same so first we convert them into same units.

using formula 1 m^3 = 1000000 cm^3

Volume = 1000 cm^3 + 0.001*1000000 cm^3

Volume = 1000 cm^3 + 1000 cm^3

Volume = 2000 cm^3

We need answer in litres so apply formula 1 cm^3 = 0.001 litres

Volume = 2000 *0.001 litres

Volume = 2 litres

Hence final answer is 2 litres.
