10. An open tank is 3 m long, 2 m wide and 1 m 50 cm deep. Find the amount of paint required to paint its
inside and outside, if 1 kg of paint covers 20 square metres. (Neglect the thickness of the material) ​

as the tank is open so,

the inside area of the tank is

{3×2+ 2(2×1.5+1.5×3) }sq m

={6+2(3+4.5)}sq m

={6+2×7.5}sq m

=(6+15)sq m

=21 sq m

so,outside area is also 21 sq m

total area is (21+21) sq m=42 sq m

20 sq m cover require 1 kg paint

42 sq m cover require 42/20 kg paint

=21/10kg=2.1 kg paint
