Pistil also known as Carpel is the female part of a Flower. It consists of a broad Ovary at the base which has ovules in it. The ovules contain the Female Gametes. The central portion of the Carpel is long, slender and tube like. It is called the Style . The uppermost part of the Carpel is called the Stigma.
