1) branches and leaves

Trees have several branches and leaves. Many of these plants grow in warmer climate of the plains and shed most of their leaves in autumn. Example, Neem, Peepal, Ashoka and Mango.

2) breathing roots

Mangroves grow in marshy soil. ... Portions of their roots come out of the soil, above water level and take oxygen from the air. These roots are called breathing roots.

3) spines

The leaves of the desert plants are reduced to spines to help to prevent the loss of water by transpiration. Transpiration is the process by which plants give out excess water in the form of vapour from their aerial parts.

4) photosynthesis

Their roots take up water and minerals from the ground and their leaves absorb a gas called carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air. They convert these ingredients into food by using energy from sunlight. This process is called photosynthesis, which means 'making out of light'. The foods are called glucose and starch.

5) stomata

Stomate, also called stoma, plural stomata or stomas, any of the microscopic openings or pores in the epidermis of leaves and young stems. Stomata are generally more numerous on the underside of leaves.
