such as stem, leaves, fruit walls and seed walls.
Fibres obtained from plants are economically
used in making fabric, paper, ropes and gunny
bags, etc.
(1) Why only some parts of plants are used for

(ii) Cotton fibres are obtained from which part of

Answer:

(1) Ropes as per their need should have high tensile strength as well as should be quite flexible. Natural ropes such as made from jute or hemp are but the phloem/ bast fibres. These fibres, surely provide plant, mechanical strength.

(2) Cotton is obtained from the fruit part of plant

(3) Coir, seed-hair fibre obtained from the outer shell, or husk, of the coconut, the fruit of Cocos nucifera, a tropical plant of the Arecaceae (Palmae) family.

(4) In which state of our country, jute growing is  a major source of income.

1. BECAUSE THE FIBRES WHICH ARE OBTAINED FROM PARTS OF PLANTS THAT CONTAIN BAST FIBRES , SOMETIMES ASSOCIATED WITH XYLEM TISSUE,ARE STRONG AND FLEXIBLE AND CONTRIBUTE MAINLY TO STEM FIBRES
