0.3(6 - x) = 0.4(x + 8)

1.8 - 0.3x = 0.4x + 3.2

-0.3x - 0.4x = 3.2 - 1.8

-0.7x = 1.4

X = 1.4/-0.7

X = - 14/7

X = - 2

(This took a lot of time...Hope it helps)

Answer:

1.2-0.3x=0.4x+2.4

1.2-2.4=0.4x+0.3x

1.2=0.7x

X=1.2/0.7

X=12/7
