1. Give 2 examples each from every day life of increased rate of evaporation due to
o increase in surface area (ii) increase in temperature
(iii) decrease in humidity (iv) increase in wind speed
2. Compare the properties of solids, liquids and gases in tabular 'orm.
Answers
Answer:
question4(i)
increase in surface area
we can fastly drink tea when we pour it in a saucer rather than in cup because it will cool down faster in saucer than the cup. this shows that there is increase in evaporation with the increase in surface area
increase in temperature
when we keep a pot full of water in the summer for the birds you will see that after 24 hours the water will completely disappear but when the same condition is on a winter day the water will not undergo evaporation. this shows that there is increase in evaporation with the increase in temperature.
increase in wind speed and decrease in humidity
we observe that clothes dry faster on a windy day than a non windy day because the wind blows the humidity present in the air and the humidity level decreases and the clothes will dry faster
