Given:

The mass of the organic compound, W = 0.3 gm

The mass of water formed = 0.54 gm

To Find:

The percentage of hydrogen in the salt.

Calculation:

- The mass of hydrogen in 18 gm of water = 2 gm

⇒ The mass of hydrogen in 0.54 gm of water = (2/18) × 0.54

⇒ w = 0.06 gm

- The percentage of hydrogen = (w/W) × 100

⇒ % of hydrogen = (0.06/0.3) × 100

⇒ % of hydrogen = 20 %

- So, the percentage of hydrogen in the given organic compound is 20%.
