Answer:

x is 0.5 and y is 0.7

Step-by-step explanation:

taking 0.3+0.5y=0.5 eq 1

and 0.5x+0.7y=0.74 eq 2

Using substitution method-

x=0.5-0.5y/0.3          eq3

putting value of x from equation 3 in equation 2

0.5(0.5-0.05y/0.3) +0.7y=0.74

0.25-0.25y/0.3+0.7y=0.74

0.25-0.25y+0.21y/0.3=0.74

0.25-0.04y=0.74x0.3

0.25-0.04y=0.222

-0.04y=0.222-0.25

-0.04y=-0.28

y=0.28/0.04

y=0.7

put value of y in equation 3

x=0.5-0.5(0.7)/0.3

x=0.5-0.35/0.3

x=0.15/0.3

x=0.5

Hope this helps i can post in elimination method if you want too. if i made a mistake i'm sorry cause i'm just new to brainly.
