Question:-

Solve the following:-

0.4(m + 8) = 0.3 (6 – m)

Answer:-

  • The value of m is –2.

Solution:-

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:0.4(m + 8) = 0.3(6 - m)}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:0.4m + 3.2 = 1.8 - 0.3m}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:0.4m + 0.3m = 1.8 - 3.2}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:0.7m =  - 1.4}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:m =  \frac{ - 1.4}{0.7} } \\

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:m =  - 2}

  • The value of m is –2.

Verification :-

Put 2 at the place of m

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:0.4( - 2 + 8) = 0.3(6 - ( - 2))}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:0.4 \times 6 = 0.3 \times 8}

\large{ \tt :  \implies \:  \:  \:  \:2.4 = 2.4}
