=> 0.4=y/25+y
=> 4/100=y/25+y
=> 4(25+y)=100y
=> 100+4y=100y
=> 100y-4y=100
=> 96y=100
=> y=100/96
=> y=25/24
=> 4/100=y/25+y
=> 4(25+y)=100y
=> 100+4y=100y
=> 100y-4y=100
=> 96y=100
=> y=100/96
=> y=25/24

Hey mate, here is your answer:-)
0.4 = y/25+y
4/10 = y/25+y
4(25+y) = 10y
100+4y = 10y
100+4y-10y = 0
100-6y = 0
-6y = -100
6y = 100
y = 100/6
y = 50/3
