Given:

0.4i + 0.8j + ck represent a unit vector.

To find:

Value of c ?

Calculation:

When a vector is unit vector, the magnitude of the vector will be 1 .

So, we can say:

 \sqrt{ {(0.4)}^{2} +  {(0.8)}^{2}  +  {c}^{2}  }  = 1

 \implies {(0.4)}^{2} +  {(0.8)}^{2}  +  {c}^{2}   = {1}^{2}

 \implies 0.16+ 0.64 +  {c}^{2}   = {1}^{2}

 \implies 0.8+  {c}^{2}   =1

 \implies  {c}^{2}   =0.2

 \implies  c  = \sqrt{0.2}

 \implies  c  =0.44

So, value of c is 0.44
