HI FRIEND ✋✋

0.4x + 0.3y = 1.7 ........ ×2

i.e 0.8x + 0.6y = 3.4 .....(1)

0.7x - 0.2y = 0.8 ........ × 3

i.e 2.1x - 0.6y = 2.4 .......(2)

(1) + (2)

0.8x + 0.6y + 2.1x - 0.6y = 3.4 + 2.4

2.9x = 5.8

x = 2.......

0.4 × 2 + + 0.3y = 1.7

0.3y = 0.9

y = 3........

The answer is..........

let,

0.4x+0.3y=1.7...................1)

0.7x+0.2y=0.8..................2)

equation 1) multiply by2

and equation 2) multiply 3

0.8x+0.6y=3.4............3)

and

2.1x-0.6y=2.4..........4)

3)+4)

0.8x+0.6y=3.4
+ 2.1x-0.6y=2.4

2.9x=5.8
x=(5.8)/(2.9)
x=2

put value in 1)

0.4(2)+0.3y=1.7
0.8+0.3y=1.7
0.3y=1.7-0.8
0.3y=0.9
y =0.9/0.3

y = 3

The value of x and y are 2 and 3.
