Amount of solute = 0.5 g

Amount of solvent = 25 g

∴ Amount of solution = 25.5 g

Percentage amount of salt in solution =

\frac{Amount of solute}{Amount of Solution} * 100

\frac{0.5}{25.5} * 100

\frac{500}{255}

≈ 1.96 %
