Hola mate... Pls see the explanation with example:

Like.. an object goes from home to skool

and come back to hone again then the distance is covered by the object but it comes to its initial position so the displacement will be zero.

so whenever a body travels some distance but it reach back to its initial position then the distance is covered by the body but we take the displacement as zero.

Hope it may help u... pls mark brainlist

Answer:

Circular motion.

Explanation:

To understand this question, we must have a clear understanding of what is displacement and distance.

Displacement is the shortest* length between two points, whereas distance is total length between two points. Displacement is vector but distance is scalar quantity.

Now, it means that if we consider distance with direction it will become displacement.

So, when a body have same initial and final position then it's displacement is zero but distance is non zero. As body may have gone to some other places and then came back to its initial position.

So, here total length is not equal to shortest length.

Example--

  • If a body is in circular motion and it comes back to its starting point then it's displacement is zero but distance is equal to the circumference of the circle.
