It has given that, 0.548 g of metal react with dilute acid and liberate 0.098g of Hydrogen.

We have to calculate the equivalent weight of metal.

Solution : using formula, equivalent mass of metal/equivalent mass of Hydrogen = mass of metal/mass of Hydrogen

⇒equivalent mass of Metal/1 = 0.548/0.098

⇒equivalent mass of metal = 5.6

Therefore the equivalent mass of metal is 5.6
