SOLUTION:-

Let roots of given quad. eqn are 2 and @

So,

Sum of roots = 2+@ = -m => @ = -(m+2).... (1)

products of roots = 2@ = -5 => @ = -5/2.....(2)

From eqn (1)&(2)., we have

-5/2 = -(m+2)

=> 5 = 2m + 4

=> 2m = 1

=> m = 1/2
