Good manners are necessary for good business simply because business is people-oriented and so are good manners.

In other words, an individual cannot sustain a business by himself. He needs to depend on many others to establish a successful business. For example, a shopkeeper depends on manufacturers, suppliers, transporters, the staff in his shop and customers to have a good business. If he is rude to any of these people, his business will suffer in one way or another. After all, rudeness is not something that people enjoy. Being polite is only one aspect of good manners.

Yet another way of showing good manners is by greeting everyone. What seems like a simple greeting is actually a way of acknowledging and respecting everyone you meet. This helps establish relations and increases the personal touch. Most businesses do well because of the personal experience they offer their customers. It makes the customer feel important.  

In today’s world, a lot has been digitalised, including marketing. Being a courteous business owner will ensure that customers overlook minor issues and still give you good reviews on the internet. The reviews further act as marketing tools and get you more business. Information about bad conduct of business owners spreads extremely fast, and can bring down business.
