in an equilateral triangle all the three angles are 60°.
so we first draw the base line of the desired length.
then make a perpendicular on the both side of the base.
thereafter we bisect the 90° angle and we get a arc marking 60° one on each side of the base.
from these points make a arc by taking a considerable radius.
join the lines from both sides of the base to the point where the arcs drawn from 60° arc meet.
this is how we construct an equilateral triangle.
note : all the 3 sides of triangle must be equal length. if not then there is a fault in the construction and one must try again
