EXPLANATION.
Graphically.
⇒ x + y = 8. - - - - - (1).
⇒ x - y = 2. - - - - - (2).
As we know that,
From equation (1), we get.
⇒ x + y = 8. - - - - - (1).
Put the value of x = 0 in the equation, we get.
⇒ (0) + y = 8.
⇒ y = 8.
Their Co-ordinates = (0,8).
Put the value of y = 0 in the equation, we get.
⇒ x + (0) = 8.
⇒ x = 8.
Their Co-ordinates = (8,0).
From equation (2), we get.
⇒ x - y = 2. - - - - - (2).
Put the value of x = 0 in the equation, we get.
⇒ (0) - y = 2.
⇒ - y = 2.
⇒ y = - 2.
Their Co-ordinates = (0,-2).
Put the value of y = 0 in the equation, we get.
⇒ x - (0) = 2.
⇒ x = 2.
Their Co-ordinates = (2,0).
Both curves intersects at a point = (5,3).
