(0) heas IT IS true Du Assertion is talse.
3. Assertion HCl produces, hydronium ions(H,0*) and chloride ions(CI)in aqueous solution
Reason in presence of water, bases give H* ions.
4. Assertion Calcium oxide is a base but not an alkali.
Reason Calcium oxide is sparingly soluble in water.
5. How does the concentration of H,O*ions get affected, when a solution of an acid is diluted?
6. Why does dry HCl not change the colour of dry litmus?

Explanation:

3 . reason false

4. both are true

5.The concentration of hydronium ions decreases when acid is diluted. Upon adding water, the H+ ions of the acid and hydroxyl ions of water react to form water molecules and the concentration of hydronium ions decreases

6.It does not dissociate into H+ ions when dry HCL is used. Only in aqueous solution can acids dissociate into ions. Since HCL is not aqueous and the litmus paper is not wet in this case, the colour of the litmus paper does not change. So dry hydrogen chloride gas has no effect on litmus paper but when hydrogen chloride gas is passed through moist blue litmus paper, the litmus paper changes to red.
