      Given 2a+7b=1and ab=-2

            2a+7b=1

     squaring on both sides

       So (2a+7b)^{2}=1^{2}    -----(1)

          Formula of (a+b)^{2} =a^{2} +2*a*b+b^{2}

    Expand the equation (1)

                        (2a+7b)^{2}=1^{2}  

                  (2a)^{2} +2*2a*7b+(7b)^{2}=1

                      4a^{2} +28ab+49b^{2} =1

     Substitute ab=-2

                       4a^{2} +28(-2)+49b^{2} =1

                      4a^{2} -56+49b^{2} =1

                      4a^{2} +49b^{2} =57

        The value of 4a^{2} +49b^{2} is 57
