9 hours while Mason C takes 12 hours to do the same
job. If the three masons are put to work together how
long will they take to build the shed? How will the
payment of 1000 for the job be distributed among

Mason A takes 12 hours to build a wall

so in hour he builds 1/12 of the wall

similarly Mason C also builds 1/12 of the wall in 1 hour

Mason C takes 9 hours to build a wall

so it builds 1/9 of the wall in 1 hour

work done by three of them in 1 hour= 1/12+1/12+1/9

10/36

so three of them build 10/36 of the wall in 1 hour

time taken to build complete wall=36/10 =3.6 hours
