Given:

A particle of mass 20 g moves along a circle with a constant tangential acceleration equal to 2 m/s².

To find:

What is the magnitude of its velocity when particle moved through a distance 4 m after starting from rest?

Calculation:

First of all, the question clearly states that the tangential acceleration is constant and equal to 2 m/s².

Now, even though the object is travelling in a circular trajectory, its final velocity will still be determined by the equation of linear kinematics.

Applying 3rd equation:

 \sf \therefore \:  {v}^{2}  =  {u}^{2}  + 2as

 \sf \implies \:  {v}^{2}  =  {(0)}^{2}  + (2 \times 2 \times 4)

 \sf \implies \:  {v}^{2}  = 16

 \sf \implies \:v =  \sqrt{16}

 \sf \implies \:v =  4 \: m/s

So, final velocity of object is 4 m/s.
