  • We know that linear momentum (p) of an object = m X V where m and V are mass and velocity of the object respectively.

        ⇒ m = p / V

Since given that p is a constant

        ⇒ m ∝ 1 / V

i.e. when m increases, the value of v decreases and vice versa.
