To find : the combined capcitance of these capcitors is ..

solution : we know, if C₁ , C₂ and  C₃  capacitors are joined in series then combined capacitance or equivalent cpacitance is given by,

     1/Ceq = 1/C₁ + 1/C₂ + 1/C₃

here, C₁ = 1μF , C₂ = 2μF and C₃ = 3μF

1/Ceq = 1/1μF + 1/2μF + 1/3μF

⇒ 1/Ceq = 11/6μF

⇒ Ceq = 6/11 μF = 0.545 μF

therefore the combined capacitance of three given capacitors  is 0.545μF.
