Noble gases are generally present in the outermost layer of the atmosphere. So they are unstable. Hence it is very difficult to find out the atomic radius of the atoms. so they are taken collectively in a container and their mass is calculated. They are placedin a separate group because they have no valence electrons in their outermost shell. Moreover all the noble gases have similar properties. So they are placed in the group 18 of the periodic table.

some noble gases are helium, Neon, argon, krypton, xenon, radon

Hope it helps you mAtE......

Thank you ....

Answer:

All the noble gas elements have zero valencies and placed in zero groups with similar chemical properties. ... The noble gases like helium, neon. argon, krypton and xenon are placed in a separate group because these are inert ( un-reactive ) and present in very low concentration in the atmosphere.
