012. Complete the following reaction:-
a) Aluminum reacts with dil. Hydro chloric acid
b) Carbon dioxide is dissolved in lime water.
c) Aluminum reacts with sodium hydroxide.
Answers
Answer:
- 2Al(s) + 6HCl(aq) -----> 2AlCl3(aq) + 3H2(g).
- Ca(OH)2(aq) + CO2(g) → CaCO3(s)
- 2Al + 2NaOH + 2H2O → 2NaAlO2 + 3H.
Explanation:
hope this will help u
Here are the reactions:
a)Aluminum + Dil. Hydrochloric acid ➝
Aluminium is amphoteric in nature, So it take react both with acids and bases. Aluminum when react with Hydrochloric acid forms Aluminium chloride is formed and Hydrgen gas is liberated.
b)Carbon dioxide + Lime water ➝
Calcium hydroxide or Lime water or Slaked lime when reacted with carbon dioxide forms a thin layer of Calcium carbonate in the bottom and walls of test tube. Water is also formed with Calcium carbonate.
c)Aluminum + Sodium hydroxide ➝
As already I have mentioned in a), That Al is amphoteric in nature and can react with both acids and bases. When it is reacted with Sodium hydroxide, Sodium aluminate salt is produced along with Hydrogen gas.
