Numer. X+8

Denom. X+5-1 = X+4

New fraction is

(X+8) / (X+4) = 5/3

On cross multiplying

3(X+8) = 5(X+4)

3x + 24 = 5x + 20

24-20 = 5x-3x

4 = 2x

X= 2

therefore, denominator will be 2+5 = 7

the fraction is 2/7
