internal resistance of a cell depends on the following factors

Surface area of the electrodes ,distance between the electrodes ,nature and concentration of the electrolyte and the temperature of the electrolyte.

It is inversely proportional to the surface area of the electrodes it is directly proportional to the distance between the electrodes less ionic electrolyte or a high concentration of electrolyte more is the resistance it is inversely proportional to temperature
