If ∆ ABC is similar to ∆ PQR, then

AC/PR = BC/QR = AB/PQ

or, 10/6 = 12/7.2 = 18/y = 5/3

To find the value of y, we do

or, 18/y = 5/3

or, 54 = 5y

or, y = 54/5 = 10.8 cm

The value of y is 10.8 cm.
