Today’s world almost forgot that we can actually use a pen and a paper to pen down something — a list of grocery items, a story that comes on the mind, a message that could be passed, or an emotional letter to express yourself. The world has forgotten the essence that spreads out when something is written on a piece of paper.

There were times when I had to go through many magazines like reader’s digest where actually you find people looking for friends. You pick someone of your choice and interest and you actually start befriending them through a set of letters exchanged.

Also, the world had forgotten the era where your true emotions all bundled up just flow in a single letter rather than communication in chucks through text messages and emails. I would write to my cousin who lives in California, which was an expensive trade. And my cousin would reply to me saying, “Hey Arun!”, and to receive his letter was quite an excitement.

While our friends kept dispersing owing to different career paths, the letters that we passed were so lively and full of charm.

Today, the beauty of that era is almost lost. Oh well, the emojis on your phone does all your jobs. While there are too many advantages of the new world technologies, people really do have to agree that true beauty lies in actually penning down things on a piece of paper. And the same is long gone and replaced by the plastic lives that people survive with.
