(05) 07:- The ratio of Red cars to White cars in a parking was 8:11. If there were 72 Red cars, how many White cars are there? Also find total number of cars? (05)​

Given:-

  • Ratio of red cars to white cars = 8:11
  • No of red cars = 72

To Find:-

  • No of white cars.
  • Total no of cars.

Solution:-

Let's,

No of red cars be 8x

No of white cars be 11x

8x = 72 \\ x =  \frac{72}{8}  \\ x = 9

  • Value of x = 9

Now, Substitute value of x in 11x

11x \\ 11 \times 9 \\ 99

No of white cars

  • 99 cars.

Total No of Cars = Red Cars+White Cars

99 + 72 \\ 171

Total No of Cars

  • 171 cars.
