What is discourtesy?

Discourtesy refers to the improper and rude behaviour towards someone. In the legal aspect, it is the rude and inconsiderate behaviour against the Government, Courts and Constitution.

Though discourtesy is not a legal offence but it should be backed by some proper evidences.

What is a legal offence?

Legal offence simply means to the breakijg of particular law in order to show discontent or any matter of public violence.

It is of two types:

1. Cognizable Offence- It is an offence if done by any individual or group, the police have all rights to arrest the person without warrant.

For example- Murder, Dowry Deaths etc.

2. Non Cognizable Offence- Under this, the police cannot arrest any person without a proper warrant or the permission of court is nedded at all means. Prior permission of the Magistrate is required to file an FIR.

For example- Defamation, Fraud etc.
