Solution:

Let S be the shirt
Let B be the belt

Given:
A shirt costs rupees 15 more than a belt.

S - B = 15 ——> Eq.1

The total cost of a 6 such shirts and 15 such belts was rupees 615

6S + 15B = 615 ——> Eq.2

To solve the system, multiply the Eq.1 by 15 (both sides) and add to the Eq. 2. You will get

Eq.1—> 15S - 15B = 225

Eq.2–> 6S + 15B = 615

Cancel out B

21S = 840

Solving for S

S = 840/21 = 40

Therefore, the cost of a shirt is 40 rupees.

Hope this will help.

Answer:

₹40

Step-by-step explanation:

let the cost of belt be x,

and the cost of shirt be (x +15 )

ATQ

6(x+15) +15x = 615

6x + 90 +15x =615

21x +90= 615

21x = 615 - 90

21x = 525

x = 525 / 21

x = 25

hence the belt cost ₹ 25 and the

shirts costs =( x +15) = ₹40
