Given:-

  • Initial velocity,u = 10 m/s

  • Acceleration,a = 5 m/s²

  • Time taken,t = 5 s

To be calculated:-

Calculate the distance covered by a body.

Formula used:-

s = ut + 1/2 at²

Solution:-

From the second equation of motion,

s = ut + 1/2 at²

★ Putting the values in the above formula,we get:

s = 10 × 5 + 1/2 × 5 × ( 5 )²

s = 50 + 1/2 × 5 × 25

s = 50 + 1/2 × 125

s = 50 + 62.5

s = 112.5 m

Thus,the distance covered by a body is 112.5 m.

Additional information:-

  • v = u + at

  • v² = u² + 2as

\bigstar CONCEPTS:-

✔️When body moves with constant acceleration,

  • \longrightarrow\rm{\vec{v}\:=\:\vec{u}\:+\:\vec{a}t}
  • \longrightarrow\rm{\vec{s}\:=\:\vec{u}\:t\:+\:\dfrac{1}{2}\:\vec{a}}

Where,

v = final Velocity

u = initial Velocity

a = acceleration

t = time

s = distance

SOLUTION:-

{\bold{\red{\underline{Given}-}}}

  • initial Velocity (u) = 10m/s
  • acceleration (a) = 5 m/
  • time (t) = 5 second

So, we have know that

  • s = ut + 1/2 at²

✔️=> s = 10×5 + 1/2 ×5×5²

✔️ => s = 50 + 62.5

✔️ => s = 112.5 m
