Question :- Shyamsundar has a field of length 150 m and breadth 100 m. He grows rice. His field produces 6 kg rice in 100 sq metre. He daily takes 3 rounds of the field to take care of crops in the morning. His grandson Raju wants to fence the field with barbed wire. The cost of fencing per metre is Rs. 25 .

He asks his grandfather to give him money for the fencing. Grandfather promises him to give money after selling the crop.

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS :-

1. What is the total distance covered by Shyamsundar in the morning?

a 500m

b 450m

c. 300m

d. 1500m

2. Find the cost of fencing the field?

a. Rs 12000

b Rs2500

c Rs7500

d Rs12500

3. How much rice is grown in the whole field?

a. 8000kg

b. 900kg

c. 9000kg

b. 90000kg

Solution :-

→ Area of Sundar's field = Length * Breadth = 150 * 100 = 15000 m² .

so,

→ Rice produces in 100m² = 6kg

→ Rice produces in 1m² = (6/100) kg .

→ Rice produces in whole field = (6/100) * 15000 = 900 kg. (Option b) (Ans.3)

now,

→ Perimeter of the field = 2(Length + Breadth) = 2(150 + 100) = 2 * 250 = 500 m.

then,

→ The total distance covered by Sundar in the morning = 3 * Perimeter = 500 * 3 = 1500 m. (Option d) (Ans.1)

therefore,

→ Total cost of fencing = Rate * Perimeter = 25 * 500 = Rs.12500 (Option d) (Ans.2) .
