Answer:

The central idea behind the poem is an awareness of the pain of loss and the courage it takes to accept it. The boy losses his favourite ball and is very upset. He can easily buy another ball but more than money or the new ball, it is the pain of losing the old one that matters the most.

it is about a boy who loosea his ball . The poet wanted to convince thr boy that he can buy another ball instead of the lost ball. But the poet doesn't do so because he wanted the boy to know the loss of loved thing in life. He also wants the boy to know that nothing is permanent in this world and wants him to overcome the loss and know about this world..
