Let us take

x = 5 cars on random day

e= 2.71828

λ= lamda= 2.5 cars/day

Substitute these terms in the Poisson distribution formula

P(x)= λˣe⁻¹ / x!

P(x)=  2.5⁵ e⁻²°⁵/ 5!

After solving

2.5⁵ = 97.65625

e⁻²°⁵= 2.71828⁻²°⁵

       = 0.08208

5!= 5x4x3x2x1

   = 120

Substituting the values

P(x)= (97.65625 x 0.08208)/ 120

     = 8.015626/120

    = 0.06679
