1.0 g of CaCO 3 was dissolved in hydrochloric acid and made upto 1000 ml. 50 ml of this solution required 46 ml of EDTA solution for titration. 50 ml of hard water sample required 20 ml of the same EDTA solution. After boiling the sample of hard water, 50 ml of it consumed 12 ml of EDTA solution. Calculate the carbonate and non- carbonate hardness of the water sample. [Ans Total hardness = 434.78 ppm;Permanent hardness(Non- carbonate hardness) 260.86ppm; Temporary hardness(Carbonate hardness)=173.92 ppm]​
