1.0 kg is thrown up with a speed of 9.9m/s. Calculate the work done by its weight in 1s.

If we take 'g'=10m/s², then 
F=1kg x 10m/s²
  =10N

therefore, work done in 1s= 10N x 9.9m/s
                                          =99J.

Anna123: Thank you, but, the formula of work is F multiplied by S, which is distance, so here how can the distance be 9.9m/s?
SilverLightning123: actually, work in seconds is power......power has two formulae....1) work/ time  ....2) force x speed(velocity basically).....
