here we look 32 g of O2 is react with 48g of Mg

so ,1 g of O2 is react with 48/32g=3/2g of Mg

so, 0.56 g of O2 is react with 0.84g of Mg

hence Mg is that reagent which is excess and (1-0.84)=0.16g excess
