1)a. In Greek mythology , the golden fleece is the fleece of the gold haired winged ram . It is in the story of Jason and his group of argonauts . They set off on a quest ordered by king Pelias to the fleece so that Jason can rightfully claim the throne of lolcus in Thessaly .

b. Because the murder had profaned her temple, Hera becomes Jason's protector . She warns Pelias to beware of a man wearing one sandal. Twenty years later, Jason save pelias , from drowning in a river , an incident orchestrated by Hera , but loses his sandal , so pelias recognizes his enemy.

c. Pelias asked Jason to bring him the golden fleece so that Jason can rightfully claim the throne of lolcus in Thessaly.
